Plumbing Leak Repair in Paso Robles
Detection-First Leak Repair for Residential & Commercial Properties
American Leak Detection™ has been The Original Leak Specialists since 1974, serving residential, commercial, and municipal properties under a single guiding principle: Leak Detection Without Destruction. Our San Luis Obispo County location brings that methodology to Paso Robles and the surrounding North County communities, locating hidden water leaks, sewer leaks, slab leaks, and pool or spa leaks without tearing into walls, floors, or foundations until we know exactly where the problem is.
Accurate detection before repair isn’t just a preference. It’s the difference between replacing six inches of pipe and jackhammering a room. Our technicians use state-of-the-art equipment and proprietary techniques developed over four decades to pinpoint the leak source, then limit the repair footprint to what’s actually needed.

Why Paso Robles Property Owners Choose American Leak Detection
General plumbers locate leaks by process of elimination, which often means opening surfaces speculatively. Our technicians train exclusively in leak detection through American Leak Detection’s proprietary program, so they arrive with the tools and knowledge to find leaks without guesswork. That training changes the repair experience significantly.
Our Know Before You Go pricing approach means you receive honest, upfront pricing before any work begins. No surprises on the invoice. Technicians arrive on time, complete work within the agreed timeframe, and leave the property clean. Throughout the process, your property is treated with the same care we’d want for our own.

“I had an awful rotten egg smell as soon as I bought our house. After calling two plumbers (who charged me a fee to tell me nothing was wrong), the Gas Company (no gas leak), and the Public Works Department, I finally called American Leak Detection. They came in, investigated with smoke, and fixed the problem. For the first time in two months, my house doesn't smell like a restaurant toilet. Highly recommend them!”- Sandi T.

“I can't say enough good things about their service! We had a slab leak that flooded the master bedroom and they came as quickly as they could and then rearranged their work schedule so the repair could be made and we could once again have water turned on. The workmen were professional and efficient. I hope I never have to use that kind of service again but if so, they are he best.”- Carolyn R.

“Tree roots had cracked my filter pipes and I was losing water badly. I was referred to American Leak Detection and set up an appointment. Daniel came out and did his best to diagnose the problem. He got very strange results and it was hard to determine the exact pipe(s) that were cracked but since I'd had a similar repair done 6 years ago and we could see evidence of the tree root damage from above, I felt confident we knew were the issue was and I contracted for the work. I was pleasantly surprised to see Daniel return to perform the work. I arranged to be home that day so I could see what he found. I supposed I hovered, taking pictures of the process, asking questions as he went along. He never got annoyed and answered every question with a smile. I don't think i ever saw anyone work harder. It was obvious from that start he had a lot of experience and knew what he was doing. Digging out the area had to be done mostly by hand which he did efficiently without complaints. He found multiple pipes cracked which explained the odd results during diagnosis. The job took longer than expected because it was difficult work and he ran out of daylight but on the job until he it wasn't possible anymore that day. Even though he was fully booked for the following day, his company rearranged his schedule so he could return the following afternoon. I returned home early from work and was able to see him complete the job. He even patched the deck with new concrete like an artisan, taking every care to make it as smooth and neat as possible. After 30 years in this house, we have had many service people come to do work. No one has ever delivered better than Daniel. He was competent, diligent, and pleasant. The cost wasn't cheap but it was fair. I don't mind at all paying for quality service.”- String R.
Leak Repair Services for Paso Robles Homes & Businesses
We handle the full range of plumbing leak issues across Residential, Commercial, and Municipal properties in Paso Robles. Whether the problem is a hidden water leak inside a wall, a slab leak beneath a concrete foundation, a sewer line failure, or a pool or spa losing water, our team locates the source non-invasively and repairs only what needs repairing. We also perform Cause & Origin investigations for mystery leaks that property owners haven’t been able to trace.
Slab leaks are a particular concern in California properties. When supply or drain lines beneath a concrete foundation fail, the results can include foundation damage and mold growth long before any visible sign appears. Hidden leaks inside walls or under floors carry the same risk, sometimes running undetected for months while driving up water bills and weakening structural materials.
Signs You May Have a Hidden Leak
If you’re considering plumbing leak repair in Paso Robles, these warning signs are worth taking seriously:
- Unexplained water bill spike: A sudden or gradual increase in your monthly bill without a change in usage habits often points to an active leak.
- Meter movement with fixtures off: If your water meter continues running when every faucet, appliance, and fixture is off, water may be escaping somewhere in the system.
- Damp spots or staining: Discoloration on walls, ceilings, or floors frequently indicates a leak behind a finished surface.
- Musty or mildew odors: Persistent odors without an obvious source can signal moisture accumulating from a long-running hidden leak.
- Wet patches in the yard: Soggy or unusually green areas of lawn may indicate an underground supply line leak.
- Gradual drop in water pressure: Pressure that decreases over time can mean a leak is reducing flow before water reaches your fixtures.
Our Detection-First Repair Process
Before any repair begins, we find the exact location of the leak. Using acoustic sensors, electronic detection equipment, and pressure testing, our technicians isolate the source within the plumbing system without opening walls or excavating blindly. That precision helps keep the repair scope as small as possible, protecting your property and reducing restoration costs.
We don’t guess. We locate, confirm, then repair. That’s what separates a service call from American Leak Detection from a standard plumbing visit.
