“New owner of an old home in Daytona Beach. Began finding mysterious water in my basement a month ago. Called a plumber, who advised calling American Leak Detection first. At ALD they were forthright on the phone about expenses. Technician and assistant arrived promptly next day, went right to work, found the problem within five minutes (leaking condensate from A/C unit) but did not stop there: Went ahead and pressure-tested the plumbing system just to make sure there were no leaks anywhere else (there were none detected). The technician, Chris, disassembled the A/C heat transfer unit and explained how it works and the necessity to keep the condensate drain pan pump in good working order. He recommended calling an A/C tech to come and clean the unit and repair/replace the condensate pump as necessary. This was money well-spent.”
