Pool Leak Repair in Richland, WA

Pool, Spa & Fountain Leak Detection & Repair for Richland Homeowners

Richland’s summers run long and hot, and a leaking pool can waste thousands of gallons before the source is ever identified. American Leak Detection brings purpose-built, proprietary detection equipment to every service call, confirming exactly where the leak is before any repair work begins. As The Original Leak Specialist™, we operate under a straightforward principle: Leak Detection Without Destruction™. That means no unnecessary digging, no guesswork, and no surprises on the bill.

Our Spokane location now offers plumbing repairs alongside our detection services, so Pool, Spa & Fountain Leak Repair can be handled from a single call.

If your pool is losing water, don’t wait out the swim season. Call American Leak Detection at (866) 701-5306 to schedule a Pool, Spa & Fountain Leak Detection inspection in Richland.

What Sets Our Pool Leak Repair Apart

General pool contractors and plumbers can perform repairs, but most don’t carry dedicated leak detection programs built around non-invasive methods. Our approach is different at every step.

  • Proprietary detection equipment: Our tools were developed in-house because nothing commercially available was built for truly non-destructive water feature leak detection. Every technician arrives with that equipment on every call.
  • Detection before excavation: We confirm the leak source before any digging begins. Repair scope is limited to what actually needs to be addressed, nothing more.
  • Trained leak technicians: Every technician completes our rigorous training program before operating independently. Forty-plus years of research and development back the methods they use.
  • Clear findings on every job: Every inspection ends with a full report covering what was found, where the leak is, and what the options are. You commit to nothing until you have that information.
  • Know Before You Go pricing: Honest, upfront pricing before work begins. No hidden fees after the fact.
  • Preferred by Top Insurers: Working with an insurer on a pool-related claim? Our documentation and reporting can support processing and coverage review.

Where Pool Leaks Originate

Pool leaks rarely announce themselves with an obvious crack or visible rupture. Most originate at specific structural or mechanical points that require systematic testing to isolate.

  • Skimmers: The joint where the skimmer throat meets the pool shell is one of the most frequent failure points
  • Suction and return lines: Fittings and joints under pressure are vulnerable, especially as plumbing ages
  • Main drain and return outlets: Structural movement or worn seals can allow water to escape around these fittings
  • Pool light housing: The conduit and surrounding structure around underwater lights are common leak sites
  • Pool pumps and filters: Equipment connections and seals can fail and drive ongoing water loss
  • Water slide plumbing connections: Accessories add plumbing joints, each of which is a potential failure point
  • Tile line and coping: Cracks along the waterline can allow water to migrate into the surrounding structure

Signs Your Richland Pool May Have a Leak

Some water loss is normal. In Richland’s summer heat, evaporation is real. But evaporation has limits, and certain signs point clearly to an active leak rather than normal loss.

  • Water loss beyond a quarter inch per day warrants professional inspection
  • Wet, soft, or spongy ground near the pool, deck, or equipment pad
  • Equipment losing prime or running constantly to maintain pressure
  • Visible cracks in the pool shell, coping, or surrounding deck
  • An autofill system cycling more often than normal
  • A water bill spike with no clear explanation

Not sure whether you’re dealing with evaporation or a leak? The Bucket Test and the Swimming Pool Water Loss Calculator on the American Leak Detection website can help you measure actual water loss before scheduling service.

"They came in, investigated with smoke, and fixed the problem. For the first time in two months, my house doesn't smell like a restaurant toilet."
“I had an awful rotten egg smell as soon as I bought our house. After calling two plumbers (who charged me a fee to tell me nothing was wrong), the Gas Company (no gas leak), and the Public Works Department, I finally called American Leak Detection. They came in, investigated with smoke, and fixed the problem. For the first time in two months, my house doesn't smell like a restaurant toilet. Highly recommend them!”
    - Sandi T.
"I can't say enough good things about their service!"
“I can't say enough good things about their service! We had a slab leak that flooded the master bedroom and they came as quickly as they could and then rearranged their work schedule so the repair could be made and we could once again have water turned on. The workmen were professional and efficient. I hope I never have to use that kind of service again but if so, they are he best.”
    - Carolyn R.
"After 30 years in this house, we have had many service people come to do work. No one has ever delivered better than Daniel."
“Tree roots had cracked my filter pipes and I was losing water badly. I was referred to American Leak Detection and set up an appointment. Daniel came out and did his best to diagnose the problem. He got very strange results and it was hard to determine the exact pipe(s) that were cracked but since I'd had a similar repair done 6 years ago and we could see evidence of the tree root damage from above, I felt confident we knew were the issue was and I contracted for the work. I was pleasantly surprised to see Daniel return to perform the work. I arranged to be home that day so I could see what he found. I supposed I hovered, taking pictures of the process, asking questions as he went along. He never got annoyed and answered every question with a smile. I don't think i ever saw anyone work harder. It was obvious from that start he had a lot of experience and knew what he was doing. Digging out the area had to be done mostly by hand which he did efficiently without complaints. He found multiple pipes cracked which explained the odd results during diagnosis. The job took longer than expected because it was difficult work and he ran out of daylight but on the job until he it wasn't possible anymore that day. Even though he was fully booked for the following day, his company rearranged his schedule so he could return the following afternoon. I returned home early from work and was able to see him complete the job. He even patched the deck with new concrete like an artisan, taking every care to make it as smooth and neat as possible. After 30 years in this house, we have had many service people come to do work. No one has ever delivered better than Daniel. He was competent, diligent, and pleasant. The cost wasn't cheap but it was fair. I don't mind at all paying for quality service.”
