Non-Invasive Pool Leak Repair for Bexar County Homeowners
A pool losing water week after week isn’t just a nuisance. It’s a sign that something in a closed, pressurized system has failed, and the longer that failure goes unaddressed, the more the surrounding soil and structure absorb the cost. At American Leak Detection, we treat every pool as an interconnected system of plumbing, masonry, and filtration equipment. Our process begins by finding the exact point of failure before anything is cut, dug, or demolished. That precision is what separates a data-based repair from an expensive guess.
Our technicians arrive on schedule, work within the agreed timeframe, and leave the property clean. Before any work begins, we walk you through the cost under our Know Before You Go approach. No surprises when the invoice arrives.
If your Bexar County pool is losing water, don’t wait for the problem to grow. Call us at (866) 701-5306 to schedule your Pool Leak Repair evaluation.
Why Bexar County Pools Leak More Than You Might Expect
The soil beneath Bexar County properties is largely expansive clay. During wet months it swells; during drought it contracts. That seasonal movement places constant stress on underground PVC lines, pool shells, and the junction between the pool structure and its attached plumbing. Skimmer throat separations and fractured lines near equipment pad plumbing manifolds are among the most common failure patterns we see in this region.
Most Bexar County homes are built slab-on-grade. When the clay beneath a concrete slab shifts, pipes encased within or below that slab move with it. A small fracture in a return line can go unnoticed until the pool is losing several inches of water per week. San Antonio summers make this harder to catch: high evaporation rates can mask a leak until the loss becomes obvious. A pool dropping more than two inches per week may be leaking rather than evaporating, though the bucket test is the more reliable way to tell the difference in a hot, dry climate.
Early signals worth taking seriously include air bubbles in return jets, soggy lawn patches during dry weather, and unexplained increases in chemical usage. Water escaping the pool’s closed system doesn’t disappear. It saturates the ground beneath the deck and can threaten the structural integrity of surrounding masonry over time. Addressing Pool Leak Repair in Bexar County early can help keep a manageable problem from becoming a major renovation.
From First Test to Permanent Fix
Our process starts with a conversation. We ask about the pool’s history, when the loss was first noticed, and what symptoms you’ve observed. That context shapes where our testing begins.
We then run non-invasive diagnostics:
- Pressure testing subterranean lines: We pressurize plumbing lines to confirm they hold. A pressure drop can help pinpoint a breach without excavation.
- Dye testing fittings, lights, and drains: Colored dye introduced near fittings, lights, and tile grout lines can make visible where water is being pulled from the system.
- Acoustic Leak Detection: Sensitive listening equipment can detect water movement in underground pipes, helping locate the source without opening the ground.
After evaluation, we provide a written report you keep. It’s your record of what was found and the basis for every decision that follows. If the issue is a cracked fitting or equipment gasket, it can often be addressed during the same visit. If the breach is beneath a deck and requires Slab Leak Detection techniques, we explain exactly why before proceeding.
The technician who performs the repair is the same one who ran the diagnostics. There’s no handoff, no interpretation gap, and no risk of a repair team working from a different understanding of what was found. Repair options are explained in plain language, including timeframe, cost, and how we’ll protect landscaping during the process. The result is a repair based on data, not guesswork.
Why Bexar County Pool Owners Choose American Leak Detection
As the original Leak Detection Specialists™, American Leak Detection brings over 40 years of national experience to every service call. Our principle of Leak Detection Without Destruction™ reflects a commitment that has shaped how we work from the beginning: find the leak accurately, fix it precisely, and protect the property throughout. Our technicians complete a rigorous training program and work with continuously developed detection technology.
Hiring separate contractors for detection and repair creates coordination risk. A repair technician working from a verbal summary of someone else’s diagnosis isn’t working from the same information we are. Our single-team model helps eliminate that gap. From the first pressure test to the final repair, one team carries the accountability.

“I had an awful rotten egg smell as soon as I bought our house. After calling two plumbers (who charged me a fee to tell me nothing was wrong), the Gas Company (no gas leak), and the Public Works Department, I finally called American Leak Detection. They came in, investigated with smoke, and fixed the problem. For the first time in two months, my house doesn't smell like a restaurant toilet. Highly recommend them!”- Sandi T.

“I can't say enough good things about their service! We had a slab leak that flooded the master bedroom and they came as quickly as they could and then rearranged their work schedule so the repair could be made and we could once again have water turned on. The workmen were professional and efficient. I hope I never have to use that kind of service again but if so, they are he best.”- Carolyn R.

“Tree roots had cracked my filter pipes and I was losing water badly. I was referred to American Leak Detection and set up an appointment. Daniel came out and did his best to diagnose the problem. He got very strange results and it was hard to determine the exact pipe(s) that were cracked but since I'd had a similar repair done 6 years ago and we could see evidence of the tree root damage from above, I felt confident we knew were the issue was and I contracted for the work. I was pleasantly surprised to see Daniel return to perform the work. I arranged to be home that day so I could see what he found. I supposed I hovered, taking pictures of the process, asking questions as he went along. He never got annoyed and answered every question with a smile. I don't think i ever saw anyone work harder. It was obvious from that start he had a lot of experience and knew what he was doing. Digging out the area had to be done mostly by hand which he did efficiently without complaints. He found multiple pipes cracked which explained the odd results during diagnosis. The job took longer than expected because it was difficult work and he ran out of daylight but on the job until he it wasn't possible anymore that day. Even though he was fully booked for the following day, his company rearranged his schedule so he could return the following afternoon. I returned home early from work and was able to see him complete the job. He even patched the deck with new concrete like an artisan, taking every care to make it as smooth and neat as possible. After 30 years in this house, we have had many service people come to do work. No one has ever delivered better than Daniel. He was competent, diligent, and pleasant. The cost wasn't cheap but it was fair. I don't mind at all paying for quality service.”- String R.
